All right it’s time to set some house rules guys!
While I understand that we all are special snowflakes in the eyes of our parents, this is a place where we all come together as equal individuals, so please remember that before falling into our bad books eh? The POCO community rules are not meant to bind you, but help maintain the social fabric of this place which we want to be a welcome experience for one and all!
Please have a look at the following guidelines:
1. The community should feel at home for everyone and everyone should be able to express their opinions.
If you disagree with someone, either admins, moderators, other commenters, etc. it is totally fine. In fact, we EXPECT that you’ll disagree with us and we want all sides represented equally in a conversation. Feel free to inform us that we’re wrong and why, just bring it on! But the moment you start attacking someone personally, start using abusive language or start creating general nuisance, we’re going to draw the line and your comments/threads will be deleted. Worse infractions can lead to a total BAN. So remember, fight opinions, not people.
If you don’t like another community member, block or mute them. That way you never have to interact or see that person’s comments or threads ever again.
2. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated.
At POCO community, we are not out to censor anybody, but we have absolutely zero tolerance for any and all forms of hate speech/racial slurs/ regional remarks and you will be immediately banned for it. No exceptions. We shouldn’t have to tell you what qualifies as hate speech and what doesn’t, but if you think of something that you wouldn’t say out loud in a public place, then maybe don’t say it here.
3. Don’t post anything NSFW or illegal
Repeated threads about how to pirate content/apps or get around copyrighted material will result in your account being banned. We know you are smart, and you have other means of sharing the said media, just don’t do it here, eh? Also, while at it, STAY OFF any sort of NSFW posts, hopefully you know why.
4. General Shitposting
While sometimes entertaining, shitposts usually derail conversations while confusing genuine users. So what constitutes a shitpost? Well, if anytime during composition, you ask yourself “am I contributing to this community in a useful way?”, then that’s more often than not a shitpost. While we might not remove the thread or comment, based on how people react to it, we encourage you to keep posts like these to a minimum. We love it when you guys go all weird, funny, controversial, etc., but we also have a job to do and run a community here.
5. Stop Feeding the Trolls
We all love our own flame wars, especially if you see a post about a user gushing about something which you hate with all your life. Some users just love generating bait articles, and ignoring them is the best way to get rid of them. If you find a post that goes beyond trolling then feel free to flag the post and the mods will have a look at it, while also helping the community moderate itself by example.
Oh and if you are a troll reading this, please show yourself out!
